The Embassy of France in India is pleased to announce the visit of Ms Anne Bouverot, Special Envoy of France for Artificial Intelligence, Co-chair of the French Council for AI and Digital Affairs, to India on 6 and 7 November 2025. Her visit builds on the strong momentum generated by the AI Action Summit, hosted by France in February 2025 with India invited as co-chair.
Ms Anne Bouverot’s visit also comes in the run-up to the AI Impact Summit, to be held in India on 19–20 February 2026, which the President of the French Republic has been invited to attend. President Emmanuel Macron will take the opportunity of his visit to India to launch, alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the India–France Year of Innovation 2026. Announced by the two leaders in January 2024, the Year will build an Indo-French network connecting the two countries’ ecosystems, reaffirming their shared ambition to deepen bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.
Speaking on the occasion of her visit, Ms Anne Bouverot said: “As we look ahead to the AI Impact Summit in Delhi in February 2026, the Franco-Indian collaboration in AI stands as a beacon of shared ambition and mutual trust. The European vision of a “third way” in AI governance—human-centred, open, and inclusive—is taking on renewed strength here in India.”
In New Delhi on 6 November, Ms Bouverot is meeting senior officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Ministry of External Affairs. The focus of these meetings is advancing the France–India partnership in digital technology and artificial intelligence.
Ms Bouverot is also visiting the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the largest public hospital in India, where she will attend a presentation by WadhwaniAI on new applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and interact with doctors and patients. These initiatives demonstrate the strong and concrete impact of AI on people’s lives — from improving patient care and prevention to enhancing access to quality healthcare services — and reflect how technology can be harnessed for the public good.
On 7 November, Ms Bouverot will travel to Bengaluru, India’s technology and innovation hub, where she will co-chair a high-level roundtable on India and France’s AI policy, organised jointly by the French Consulate General in Bengaluru and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The discussion will focus on the vibrant AI ecosystem of Karnataka and on practical areas of cooperation between French and Indian stakeholders. By highlighting local innovations and initiatives in sectors such as healthcare, environment, and mobility, the roundtable will illustrate the diversity and dynamism of AI applications across the state. Together with a representative of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Ms Bouverot will engage with leading policymakers, researchers and industry experts to explore new opportunities for collaboration and exchange.
While in Bengaluru, Ms Bouverot will also meet representatives of the Indian and French business and tech communities to discuss opportunities for collaboration and to encourage new partnerships between companies, researchers, and entrepreneurs in the field of AI. Her programme will include a meeting with Mr Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys, to discuss the company’s pioneering role in India’s digital transformation and explore areas of cooperation with the French AI and innovation ecosystem.
A recognised leader in France’s AI strategy, Ms Bouverot co-chaired the national report “AI: Our Ambition for France” in 2024 and led the organisation of the Paris AI Action Summit in 2025. Her visit to India underlines the growing depth of the France–India partnership in technology, research, and innovation, and reflects the two countries’ shared commitment to developing an open, responsible, inclusive and sustainable global approach to artificial intelligence.
